Targets of the Authority:
The Authority
aims at applying the values of beauty to the exterior image of buildings,
urban and monumental spaces, the bases of visual texture of cities and
villages and all the civilized areas of the country including the new urban
societies.
To achieve these
targets, NOUH is authorized to make all required decisions and
recommendations in accordance with the current rules of law and legislation.
Hence, NOUH is responsible in particular for the following:
1.
Reformulating the
visual beauty of the all areas all over the country and eliminating actual
ugliness.
2.
Preparing
a database
comprising all buildings with special architectural
features all over the
country and setting the necessary rules to preserve this patrimony.
3.
Setting the norms
that guarantee the occurrence of no alteration to the current architectural
image and prohibiting the addition of any annexes to the currently existing
buildings that may deform the whole image.
4.
Setting the
bases of
dealing with architectural spaces such as gardens, streets, pavements,
lighting and colors. Both the
particularity of every zone and the international criteria must be taken into
consideration. These rules must also
respect the movement of pedestrians and disabled citizens. Thus, materials
and colors must conform with the architectural
features of every area.
5.
Setting the
conditions tackling the form of advertisements and signs appearing in
streets, squares and on buildings’ facades. The regulation must define the
dimensions of the advertisement, its height, colors and its suitable
location.
6.
Re-organizing public
squares within an architectural & visual framework. This must
conform with the specific
features of every area and must preserve the original
old form of every square.
7.
Discussing draft laws and
pointing out every remark that helps to achieve urban harmony.
